Trauma and resolution
How trauma affects us and how to deal with it.
Cause and Effect
Trauma is different for everybody. Our brains are a complex combination of chemicals and hard wired neurons and matter, which tends to create the unique personalities that exist in the world. On top of this we learn from our environment, the people around us, our interactions with both and then from the conclusions we draw from all of these.
Due to these factors it is apparent that some people will find different situations more or less traumatic than others. Some events will affect one person deeply while the next person may be affected to a lesser degree or even unaffected. It all depends on your internal makeup and your experiences and learning.
Therefore it is the therapists job to be open to learn from the client what their specific needs are and address these needs to enable the client to shake off the effect, once the cause is known.
Trauma can be so many things. A traumatic event could be as simple as being shouted at when you were not expecting it. It could be an emotional incident in which you were hurt deeply but physically OK. It could be something that was physical and you reacted to this in some way that may seem hard to understand.
The key thing to remember here is that the causes will vary for everyone, the effects will be different too, but the resolution is almost always the same. Find the cause, deal with it and the effect will disappear.
We tend to have an automatic reaction when faced with trauma. Something that deeply affects us will cause us to shut down part of ourselves. This part is the section of our emotional persona that is the most hurt by the event and since it does not wish to feel the pain any longer it closes down, denying the pain. This has the effect of denying part of ourselves so we are unable to feel things, and this in turn produces the effect that causes us to seek therapy in the first place.
When we can be re-introduced to this part of ourselves safely without feeling the pain then we can be whole and well again.
The therapist will use Hypnotherapy to resolve these issues. The shaman will use Soul Retrieval.
